Our story

Sixteen years of Boulder winters and summers

Summit Heating & Air started in 2009 with one truck, one technician, and a simple rule: tell people the truth about what their system needs, then do the work right the first time. Our founder had spent a decade installing furnaces for a national chain, and left when he got tired of chasing upsell quotas. Summit was his way of doing the job differently.

Boulder's climate doesn't make the work easy. Triple-digit summer afternoons give way to winter nights well below freezing, sometimes only a few months apart. That range shapes how we size equipment: we account for the elevation and the swings of the Front Range instead of a generic spec sheet, and we back every repair and install with a written workmanship warranty.

What hasn't changed

We're still locally owned, still licensed and insured in Boulder County, and still small enough that whoever answers your call knows the technician heading to your door. Estimates are free, every price gets explained before we start, and we don't charge for a diagnosis when we can't fix the problem on the same visit.

Where we're headed

Today our certified crew handles AC repair and installation, furnace and heat pump service, and indoor air quality for homes across the greater Boulder area. We run more trucks than we used to, but the promise is the same: honest quotes, no surprises, and a house that stays comfortable all year.

FAQ

Common questions

What Boulder homeowners ask before booking. If your question is not here, our team is happy to help.

Still have questions?

Talk directly with our local dispatch team.

Do you offer financing on new systems?

Yes. We offer financing on qualifying installations, including 0% options for buyers who qualify. We work with several lenders to find terms that fit your budget, and we can often get you an answer within 24 hours. Ask about current rates when we quote your system.

What's your service area?

We cover Boulder and the surrounding Front Range, including Lafayette, Louisville, Broomfield, Westminster, and as far south as Castle Rock. Being based in Boulder lets us reach emergency calls in our core area quickly. If you’re near the edge of that territory, give us a call to confirm we can get to you.

Do you handle emergency calls outside normal business hours?

Yes. We run 24/7 dispatch for heating and cooling failures. Call the main line and our answering service will pick up. On most emergency calls we have a technician at your door within two hours, day or night, weekends included. These calls carry a service charge above the standard rate.

How often should I have my system maintained?

Twice a year: once in spring before AC season and once in fall before heating. Each visit runs about 45 minutes and covers a full diagnostic, a new filter, a refrigerant check, an electrical inspection, and lubrication of the moving parts. Regular maintenance catches small problems early and can add five years or more to a system’s life.
